Here are two techniques for hitting targets with dumb bombs. The first technique is to climb to 15,000 feet. Keep approaching the target until you are 3.5 miles away. Roll inverted so that you're upside down. Pull back on the stick and keep diving until the target box becomes visible in the heads-up display. Continue to pull back on the stick until the target box moves from the bottom of the heads-up display to the top of the heads-up display and you are well below it. When you have pipper over the bomb fall line, wait until the countdown approaches zero. Notice that the countdown will slow down, especially when it gets close to zero. The countdown will slowdown because the decrease in altitude will make the drop point closer and closer to the target. When the count down has slowed and is real small such as two seconds, it is then time to pull back on the stick a tiny bit. The pull back on the stick should be so small that it is less than 4gs and maybe less than 2gs. The point of pulling back on the stick is not to release the bomb sooner but to finish off the last second or so of the release point countdown. If you pull two many Gs upward, the bomb will likely miss. [see video 1
