In Falcon4 Allied Force when you try to lock on to the first target on the radar, the maverick TV camera will be placed in the vicinity of the target you locked on radar but not right over that target. To get the maverick TV camera to be placed right over the target you locked on radar, follow this procedure. 1) Lock a target on radar. 2) Break the target lock. 3) Press the target lock key. After you do these steps, the Maverick missile TV camera will then be placed right over the target. Move the Maverick TV camera crosshairs to make any corrections, if necessary. Press the target lock key again to lock the Maverick TV camera on a target. In Falcon4 Open Falcon/Falcon4 BMS 4, these three steps are not necessary to place the maverick missile TV camera right over the target. It is done automatically.

When the targets are far apart, it is easier to find targets using the radar than it is finding them using visual acquision through the maverick's TV camera. However in Falcon4 Open Falcon/Falcon4 BMS 4, this is not always the case. In this version of Falcon, the vehicles seen in the maverick's TV camera have such good contrast that a zoomed out view will visually give you the big picture of the positions of many of them. Here is the procedure for traversing the targets using the radar. For Falcon4 Allied Force: For the first target do the following. 1) Lock a target on radar. 2) Break target lock. 3) Press the target lock key. 4) The maverick crosshairs should be right over the target. Move the maverick crosshairs if necessary. Press the target lock to lock the maverick crosshairs over the target. 5) Fire a maverick. 6) Press the break target lock key two times. The first time the break target lock key is pressed, the sensor of interest moves from the maverick TV camerato the radar. The sensor in which you target things with is called the sensor of interest. The second time unlocks the radar lock on the target. 7) After you press the break target lock key twice, lock the radar onto a new target. Now repeat steps 2 to 5 to fire a maverick on that new target.

In both Falcon4 Allied Force and falcon4 open falcon/falcon4 bms 4, there may be situations when multiple good targets are visible in the Maverick's zoomed view. In both versions of falcon4, it may be helpful to use the radar locked vehicle as a reference and target the other vehicles using verbal descriptions of the other vehicles positions. Examples of verbal descriptions are: attack the vehicles one vehicle to the right of the reference vehicle and also the two vehicles above it.
If the vehicles are moving slowly, you will not need to use the radar to return you to the reference vehicle. Just simply firing at one and quickly uncaging the missile to fire at a second one will keep the maverick crosshairs close to the reference vehicle. In this case you simply traverse to all the vehicles visible in the maverick's zoomed view by moving the maverick's crosshairs to each one.
