Getting Your Wingmen to Survive the AA-12(R-77) In Falcon 4 Allied Force
In Falcon 4 Allied Force, getting your wingmen to survive works differently than in Falcon 4 BMS 4. In Falcon 4 Allied Force, your wingmen will not follow your order to follow you when you turn away from the missile. The way to get them to survive is to get them to turn away from the missile by ordering them to return to base. Here is the steps to do that.
1. Order your wingman to turn their ECM on. This will buy them some time so they are not fire at right away and have time to turn away from the missile.
2. Order them to fire at about 25 to 27 miles away. The further away the better. If your flight is a 4 plane one, order your wingman to fire at the nearest aircraft. Then order your element to fire at the second nearest aircraft. If your flight is just a 2 plane flight, then order your wingman to fire at the nearest aircraft.
3.
Fire at the next two aircraft behind the aircraft your wingmen fired at. Since you can avoid missiles better than your computer-controlled wingmen, fire at the enemy aircraft as close as you can get.
4.
Listen for your wingmen to say fox three, which says they have fired their aim 120 missile. As soon as they have fired it, order that wingman to return to base. Hopefully they will have fired it 20 or more miles away.
Whether your wingmen survive will be determined by how far away they fire at and how fast they turn around. Fortunately, in Falcon 4 Allied Force, the aircraft turn around faster than in BMS 4. They also head away from the missile at about 400 miles per hour rather than the 250 miles per hour in BMS 4. The extra speed is what makes the return to base command work.
